This is the first Venice Art Crawl of the year!
This is the opportunity to see art by local artists – and some reallly great, cutting edge art as well in Venice! It takes place along the Venice Boardwalk (Ocean Front Walk is the real name) between Venice Blvd. and Rose Ave. and streets in the vicinity at restaurants, galleries, stores, offices and some super cool spaces you normally would not be able to see in Venice.
First, the more well known venues you can Google if you don’t know where they are: Hotel Erwin, Danny’s, James Beach, Canal Club and Whole Foods. Make sure to see newcomer, Cadillac Hotel.
Next for some lesser known venues, some of them private residences:
This is a great space and often times has art up on the roof, n the past featuring Venice Artist Bill Attaway’s art. The ground floor has art and usually hosts the afterparty. You may be treated to some cool projections on the street just steps away.
This is also known as the gargoyle house. Eclectic art displayed outside in a unique setting. After all, it is Venice!
1407 Ocean Front Walk. Located next to Sidewalk Cafe which also is part of the art crawl. This independent book store is a real gem in Venice!
The Venice Art Crawl was started in August 2010 and is a free event to particpate in whether you are an artist or coming to view the art. The event has quickly grown in scope and popularity. This is a must see and experience if you can make it to Venice!
