Jack Spade has only eight stores in the States, with six being on the East Coast. Jack Spade Venice is the men’s store to go to for work basics or for anyone who wants to pull off the “just from work and now I’m at the bar” look. Classic oxford shirts, polo-style shirts, relaxed blazers, and flat-front chinos are the staples in the shop. Also, the signature Spade messenger bag is front and center. GANT recently rebranded itself to compete with higher end brands and its rugged meets business casual look is a perfect fit for the Venice crowd. The GANT Rugger store offers American sportswear style clothing with a mix of vintage-inspired oxford shirts, sweaters, and jackets. One thing that every man needs from the Rugger collection is a varsity sweatshirt.
Although born in New York, Steven Alan’s edgy yet classic clothing is very L.A. Steven Alan Annex on Abbot Kinney carries the heritage-inspired collection, along with other brands like RRL by Ralph Lauren, A.P.C., Wings + Horns, and Levi’s Vintage Clothing. The cacti outside of the store make this an iconic destination that cannot be missed. Every man in L.A. needs to own a Classic Collegiate shirt from Steven Alan. For guys who don’t like going out and seeing a sea of men dressed like them, the Robert Graham store is for you. Robert Graham is synonymous with over-the-top prints that can be dressed up with a suit or down with shorts. Also, men who are into “sock ministry,” will be delivered when they touch Graham’s socks. These are not your grandfather’s socks. These are your cool brother’s socks. The Venice store is the Flagship store for the company and offers all of the brands products.
Scotch & Soda, founded in 1985 in Amsterdam, is a casual luxury men’s brand known for its attention to detail, tailored fit, and high-quality fabrics. It’s Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook features botanical yet masculine prints, vintage-inspired colors, and a modern twist on Bermuda shorts. Luckily, the store offers not just trendy summer looks, but also blazers, winter jackets, dress pants, dress shirts, bags, and other accessories. The store is ultra-masculine with concrete floors and wood accents. If store design were sex, the Scotch & Soda store would be sex that’s so good you accidentally break things!
