Venice Art Walk

Join artists and the Venice Family Clinic Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Google in Venice for a silent auction that showcases work from prestigious artists and other festivities throughout the day. Bids will support their help to provide quality health care for people in need. Meet local artists and get a behind the scenes look of artists’ creative process and embark on a Artist Studio Tour (ticket purchase required). Live music and live art exhibitions will be happening at Google (free)! 12pm-6pm.

Sandy Bleifor is a long time Venice Artist and supporter of the Venice Community. She has been instrumental in the movement creating housing for artists in Venice. Her Plastic Bag Kimono series is based on her desire to use the imagery from global tragedies and natural disasters to create a call of action. Venice Art Crawl

Venice Art Crawl is preparing for their second art crawl of the year on Thursday, May 18 6pm-10pm. The Lincoln bar/lounge will screen Art in Motion 2, a series of video works curated by Saeli Eshelman,“Sago Plastico,” the experimental work of Miranda Friedman featured at Beyond Baroque, and the exhibit “Sixth Extinction,” by British, London based artist Louis Masai  and so many more!

Affair of the Arts 

Art really is all over LA! Beginning Friday, May 5, 5pm-8pm the 8th Affair of the Arts in downtown Culver City will be showcasing art work from 50 of Southern California top painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramicists, wood workers, glass blowers and jewelry artists. All works will be available for purchase of course! The event will also be featuring arts and craft stations for the kiddos, live painting and live music. Can’t make it Friday? No problem the art fest continues into the weekend April 6 – 7, 11am-6pm!

He’s a filmmaker, a voracious event organizer, and lover of all things Venice. He’s none other than Gerry Fialka, coordinating director of PXL THIS 26. The film fest will include shorts, such as What Wood You Do?, Caner Alley Blues, and more! This space will have work from everyone ranging from 10 year olds to homeless artists in the Venice community. Come down and check it out for yourself on Thursday, May 18, 7:30pm.
