This exhibition features beautiful and compelling photographs taken by youth in the My Viewpoint Photography Program on the Cheyenne River Reservation, and highlights a collaborative photographic and personal storytelling exchange between youth in South Dakota and youth at Venice Arts conducted over 2010 and 2011.

Sleep Out to End Homelessness at Beyond Baroque & Sparc Tonight Aug. 6, 7:30pm – Aug 7, 7:30am

Venice Community Housing Corporation holds a sleep out tonight to spread awaremness, decriminalize homelessness and end homelessness in LA. Sleep on the lawn and stay overnight – there will be speakers and entertainment scheduled throughout the evening. The event is sponsored by numerous grooups.

There will be a short program beginning at 7:30 p.m. to include:
 
Paule Cruz Takash, President of the Los Angeles Human Relations Commission
Suzanne Verdal, conceptual artist and inspiration for Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne”
Pastor Horace Allen, 1st Baptist Church of Venice
Carol Sobel, civil rights attorney, Vice-President, National Lawyer’s Guild
Stephen Longfellow Fiske, folk singer

After the program enjoy an evening of entertainment including folk singing,
poetry, dramatic readings, skits and maybe a full length movie. You are encouraged to bring your sleeping bag or cardboard condo and stay all night. Don’t panic! Rest room facilities will be available all night, snacks will be provided Saturday
evening, and pastries and coffee will be served on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.
