The last AKFF event of the year went out with a bang! Here are a couple stops the AKFF team hit up last Friday! Share you experience with us and tag us on social media @AbbotKinney1st!

img_0426For starters, to keep our hands and feet from freezing over, the team stopped by Los Tamaleros food truck to grab a hot cup of champurrado (Mexican Hot Chocolate). It was the perfect beverage to keep us company and warm through the night!

img_0400-1In between making our way to several food trucks we stopped by an alley down Abbot Kinney to admire the murals. To no surprise there was a group people already in the alley admiring the art before us. Murals and street art are typical finds on Abbot Kinney Bl and around Venice. They are fun, free activities everyone can enjoy!

We walked over to The Brig to find giant crowds lining up for Dogtown Dogs, Sabores De Mexico, The Pudding Truck, Chancho’s Tacos, Cousins Maine Lobster, Kogi, The Cut and many more! Groups of people sat on the picnic tables laughing and savoring every bite of their delicious meals!

img_0403Of course we had to hit up Global Party People! This was also their last First Fridays event they will be hosting for a while. They warmed up the cold night with their positivity, relaxing vibes, and great mixes for one last time before the year ends!

img_0394-1We headed over to the Venice Sign Lighting ceremony where we spotted Santa taking selfies before heading to the North Pole. We also found people gathered around the stage listening and dancing to live music from Venice and Pine Mt. Logs. Other fun activities they had were arts and craft stations where attendees were able to customize their very own stockings and take photos on the red carpet with festive props to remember the eventful night!

He said some words on being a Venice native and being labeled “The band from Venice” when The Doors were just starting out, to which the crowd cheered.  Krieger stood around to do what he does best, play his guitar. The crowd went wild!  See our video of the sign lighting on Instagram
