As Editor of the AKFF Blog, I’m asking you all to participate in the Special Rally to Save the Venice Post Office on Saturday from 2-4pm.
Your support in person is needed, so Venice does not lose one of it’s few historic buildings in existence, along with a mural by a renowned artist. See the Saturday listing below.
Wednesday:
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) will be celebrated at SPARC. It’s the traditional ceremony of the calling of the spirits, aka, honoring our loved ones who have passed. Free 6:30 – 9pm, 685 Venice Blvd.

Thursday:
7 Dudley Cinema at Beyond Baroque from 7-10pm screening, “Derailroaded.” Josh Rubin & Jeremy Lubin’s (in person) sympathetic and touching journey through the thunderstorms of the mind of paranoid-schizophrenic Larry “Wild Man” Fischer follows his discordant encounters in the music business. Preshow at 7pm features live readings and performances. Screening at 8pm. Free! 681 Venice Blvd.
Friday:

Java with Javelin at The Talking Stick. Indie Music night with special guest Bruce Garnitz and several other bands from 7-10pm. Free! 1411 Lincoln Blvd.
Saturday:
Save the Venice Post Office Rally, 2-4pm in the center of Windward Circle with speakers from : The LA Conservancy, SPARC, Venice Neighborhood Council. Venice stands to lose this historic WPA (Works Progress Administration) building and mural by artist, Edward Biberman if it’s sold. Please join this peaceful rally in the heart of Venice.
