Ultra-experimental performance laboratory at Electric Lodge, starting at 7:30 for $10. max10 is a place where new artists can show early work, and more established artists can work outside their genre. The event is called max10 because each piece can be no longer than 10 minutes, and there will be no more than ten performers a night. Wednesday:
Luminous Movement: Dj Jedi & Dj Baruch (Ladies Free All Night!) at Zanzibar in Santa Monica. In celebration of the Goddess, ladies are FREE all night!!!! Doors 10pm / $10 Cover. Conscious Community, Live Music, Djs, Visual Artists, Vendors, Full Bar, Dance Floor & Kombucha will be available all night! Plus raw/vegan chocolates.

Friday:
First Fridays on Abbot Kinney from approximately 6-10/11pm, and it’s free! The Abbot Kinney 1st Fridays blog encourages you to check out all the eclectic shops, galleries and restaurants, listed in GQ Magazine’s, GQ 100 in the April issue as “The most happening shopping destination in America.”
Start the night out at Electric Lodge for an audio/visual performace by Duo del Sol at 7pm. The lodge is behind Abbot Kinney at Milwood, with onsite parking. Visit the blog again for more details.
Walk on over to Altered Space Gallery at 8pm Michele Mikesell’s latest circus-inspired exhibition entitled, “Hugo, Oklahoma”. There will be an art reception after the performance at Electric Lodge and
giclee print giveaway.
Jazz at Joe’s Restaurant from 7-11 pm on the patio with jazz, flamenco and world music guitarist Vahagni, joined by drummer Zach Harmon and cellist Artyom Manukyan. Joe’s is a Venice institution that’s west of Westminster where there’s a cluster of restaurants. Free, however, dinner orders required for table seating. 1023 Abbot Kinney Blvd
There are many great places to check out such as Joe’s Restaurant and Zingara that participate in First Fridays, Venice. Make sure to see them too for a truly unique VENICE experience! (After all, you can find food trucks anywhere in LA…)
Saturday:
Opening at the G2 Gallery for the opening exhibition, Nature LA: Cheryl Medows. Meet the artist and enjoy live music, wine, hors d’oeuvres, and complimentary valet parking. 6:30 – 9:30pm. $5 admission at the door benefits the Sierra Club.
