Holiday Events in Venice + Santa Monica on Friday, December 2, 2016!
Venice Sign Lighting
The Annual Venice Sign Lighting is taking place at the intersection of Windward Ave and Pacific Ave starting at 6pm and ending around 9pm. There are booths from local businesses, live music and festivities happening with the main event around 8pm. That’s the sign lighting where the Venice sign changes to red and green Christmas colors! Typically there is a special celebrity guest to pull the switch for the lights: in 2014 Pink was the special guest and Robert Downey Jr was the first special guest, pictured above with belovedCouncilman Bill Rosendahl.
Montana Ave Holiday Walk in Santa Monica
This is another annual event that thousands attend with the majority of shops open on Montana Ave in Santa Monica, spanning 10th to 17th streets. Special festivities abound with strolling musicians and bands, Santa Clause in several locations, special sidewalk sales and more. Starts early at 5 – 9pm. Get there early to find parking and pay attention to signs – many are 2 hour parking only.
