In light of the Boardwalk tragedy on  Saturday, August 3 around 6 p.m. where Alice Gruppioni, an Italian tourist on her honeymoon  was killed and 11 people were injured  by a hit and run driver who sped onto Ocean Front Walk  from Dudley Ave., the AKFF Blog would like to extend its deepest sympathy to the families of the victims. We hope for  a full recovery for those injured.

A suspect, Nathan Campbell has been booked and is  being held in lieu of a $1 million dollar bail. Mike Bonin, the Venice area City Councilman is proactively working with the police and fire department as well as the Mayor to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again and has reached out to the community for their suggestions  as well. The AKFF welcomes your suggestions  in the comments area  at the bottom of this post and will forward to the Councilman.

There will be a candle lit vigil and fundraiser TONIGHT AT 6PM at the Candle Cafe, located at the corner of Dudley Ave on Ocean Front Walk.
