Lincoln Blvd. has come a long way!
Take a stroll down Lincoln Boulevard for a change. This up and coming street is a great place to spend an afternoon exploring or somewhere to chill on your lunch break. You’ll find great bars and resturants to eat up and down the street.
Helen’s Cycles is a well known bicycle shop where anyone can rent bikes and get tips on some great rides nearby. All up and down Lincoln Blvd there are a ton of murals, perfect for picture taking.
There’s tons of little shops including a pyschic and tarot card reading if you’re feeling curious about your future.
The night scene the Blvd becomes more alive than in the day time. There are various bars and gastropubs up and down the street.
Definitely check out Wurstkuche! It’s a sausage restaurant and bar that has a twist on the normal hot dog, ranging from a classic Italian to a gourmet sausage. There are exotics where brave customers can try rattlesnake, duck, pheasant etc. They carry an extensive range of beer, from German, Belgian and American IPAs. If you’re a fan of beer and sausages this is a great place to eat and hang with friends.

Burgers n’ Brews is a great place to eat if you love burgers and beers on tap. It’s a fairly new restaurant where the burgers served are all gourmet and for a great price. All the burgers are served with fries however you can substitute them for sweet potato fries or even a fresh kale salad. They have IPA’s and Lagers all handpicked and local beers.
Another hotspot is The Lincoln, which has been previously featured on AKFF. Great cocktails and strong!
If you’re looking for a chill place to hang check out Lincoln Blvd!

Before you go back to school see AKFF’s five ideas that will make this summer the most memorable.
Malibu Creek State Park
Summer hikes are always a great idea with friends or family! Malibu State Creek Park has a dope hiking trails that range from a light walk to climbing over rocks for those who love living on the edge. There is a $10 parking fee and $1 to buy a trail map which I would recomend. All together it is an 8 mile hike which typically takes three and a half hours to complete depending on which trails you decide to hike. However you don’t have to hike all 8 miles. There’s a popular Rock Pool where most hikers hangout, go for a swim or a picnic. This hike is without a doubt worth the experience for the views and the pictures!
1925 Las Virgenes Rd, Calabasas, CA 91302
First Thursdays, San Pedro
Every First Thursdays of the month local Art Galleries hold a free event showcasing their art and other artist work. It’s a great experience and there are always positive vibes around the event. It’s family oriented and there is a sense of a close knitted community. This event is held in downtown old San Pedro and takes over 6th, 7th, and Mesa street. So a full three blocks of Art, Food Trucks, and local restaurants! It’s a great place to meet new people and take the dopest pics under the Tivoli Lights which a strategically placed through the streets.
San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th street San Pedro, CA
The Pike in Downtown Long Beach
Whether you’re 5 years old or 60 years old, the pike is without a doubt the place to be on any night of the week! There’s a Ferris Wheel that’s huge but always fun to ride, with the fam or even on a date night. You can take a walk down to Rainbow Harbor which is right across the street and check out their local comic book store, arcade and the other novelty shops. Even rent some bikes for an afternoon/evening ride! There is so much to do in this area it’s almost impossible to list, however they’re all pretty great experiences.
The Pike Outlets, 95 S Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802

This event is for all my car fanatics, the Redondo Beach’s Ruby’s host a classic car meet up where owners of these cars post up and admire each others cars. The event is located in the parking lot of Ruby’s near seaside lagoon which is a fun idea for families to check out after a day at the beach. The vibes are always great around this area and especially at car shows. Everyone is open to talk about their cars or give advice to anyone who is restoring a classic car. The event does not exclude newer models or even motorcycles, it’s a friendly atmosphere that most families in the area attend.
