Abbot Kinney First Fridays on May 1, 2015 was a blast!
Shopping on Abbot Kinney Boulevard – see the most recent trends in the AKFF photo gallery, Eating (of course!) is the main attraction with 20 food trucks to choose from, for example Roll n Lobster for the delish Conneticut ginormous lobster roll, Alegria for healthy organic, Sweet E’s, well you know what that’s for…
Both Palms and Santa Clara Av were turned into food truck corrals again, which provided room for more trucks and for those who wanted to eat and sit down at picnic benches.
The ever changing Abbot Kinney Bl: It was sad to see Hal’s Bar & Grill closed with the construction crews tearing it apart, though not to worry, it will be seen in it’s new home where Primitivo is with Casa Linda in the same space. Wylie Wilson moved from Santa Clara to their larger new digs next door where it fronts on Abbot Kinney. We’re glad to know that Tumbleweed & Dandelion found out last minute that they can keep their space!
InviteUp was on the boulevard, showing off their new mobile dating/event app – hint: event coming soon on Abbot Kinney! (Come back so you can get the invite.)
Shopping at the increasing amount of shops open later for First Fridays was great! We checked out Satine, Skylark, Ruti, Ananda and Wylie Wilsonto salivate over the fresh and fab apparel, accessories and lingerie. Plus, a sample sale at Stephanie Johnson during the day for a set of fabulous silver cosmetic and travel bags was sweet!
Drinking a glass of wine at The Other Room was a great way to start out the evening! They have a good wine and beer selection and will tweak the wine list for even more better wines. Cheers!
