Venice to Vegas – Special Report on where to eat, shop and play (clubs & pools)
It’s sizzling hot and what better way to cool off than one of the many pools or shop it off – and there is great shopping in Las Vegas!
Shop at All Saints in the contemporary Cosmopolitan, part of the City Center! Eat at Wicked Spoon in the Cosmopolitan, if you’re looking for a buffet- it has the reputation as one of the best!

Play at Drai’s, the hottest new club on the Strip! Saturday night is the night to go to this beautiful, classy club with  a pool that has an amazing view of the Strip! The beats are great, the vibe is fun and you can dance your ass off! It’s a good classy crowd, (much classier than other clubs in LV) short line, no searches (they do that at Tao- so annoying), while it’s crowded, you’re not packed in like a sardine, so you can dance the night away! Drinks are $$$ (like most places on the Strip). The bars at Vegas clubs need to take note of places like Hal’s Bar & Grill on Abbot Kinney to learn how to make a superb drink  – and great customer service! Nuff said…

Speaking of cocktails, it was nice to  have a cosmopolitan during happy hour at Kona’s, away from the Strip, 20 minutes away in Summerlin, for a chill experience with some good eats like avocado egg rolls and margherita pizza and sushi. Plus shopping there in the Boca Center –  Las Vegas Facebook photos coming soon! Pools, pools, so many pools – we loved the Bellagio for a classy experience that makes you feel like royalty (5 pools and jacuzzis), Aria is nice with 2 pools including a 21+ pool and upbeat  weekend scene at Encore. Come back – more coming soon!

Venice Community Barbeque – Saturday, Aug 2, 12-4pm
This annual event is a fun one for all ages. The local Fire Station 63  makes the BEST BBQ ever! Just bring a side dish or dessert to share for at least 10 people. Local music, games for the kids and more! Oakwood Recreation Center.
